Communication Barriers
Obstacles to Communication
Communication is the name of a continuum that exists or is created between the sender and the recipient of the message. Communication is complete and effective when there is no interruption between the continuity. The message, its meaning and the effect of the message is exactly what the sender intended. Each link in the series may be interconnected. The nature of the message sender, the source of the message, and the recipient of the message may be interconnected. Communication is not available due to interruptions. Nor is it effective, so it is necessary to review these barriers.
By communication barrier we mean the unwanted process that interrupts the messenger at any stage between the receiver and the receiver so that the physical or psychological connection between the two cannot be maintained and the message is effectively conveyed. Once we reach our destination, we take a closer look at these barriers to communication.
When sending a message, it is important to know whether our message has reached the listener or the destination. If it has survived, then whether it has affected the viewer or the reader according to the wishes of the sender. When a publisher advertises something, he wants more people to believe in it so that his goods will sell more. After writing a letter to someone, we hope that God will reach the letter. Would have gone and his message must have been well received by me after a political party nominated its candidate in the election. Newspapers, Red Utilities and other media outlets spoke about his abilities.
Tells people from and tries to set me up so that people can choose it. When someone creates an advertisement for an industrial enterprise, it succeeds and fails to increase sales. Similarly, when we write a letter, sometimes it gets five messages to the addressee. The representative of a political party also wins the election and also fails because the voters also believe in those who describe his merits and they may not even believe that some of the voters have not been able to take his merits but they He may not have read the newspaper or the television program that was related to the merits of the candidate. Sometimes people do not see the qualities that are described. Types of Obstacles to the Character of this Person Prof. Mehdi Hassan writes in his book Mass Communication that if the structure of communication is taken into account, it can be estimated that there are two types of obstacles in the way of effective communication.
- Medical Barriers
- Psychological Barriers
Medical Barriers
If a message does not reach its destination, then the sender will obviously fail to achieve his goal. You wrote a letter to a friend of yours and mailed it to your friend in a letter, but if these letters are lost along the way and your friend can't stand it, then your friend is your message. Will be unable to extinguish.
Some African tribes play drums in a certain way when they call their comrades for help or announce a threat. When all the people of this tribe hear the sound of the drum, they tell me that the drummer needs help, but it is possible that some people of this tribe could not even hear the sound and thus the message remained unanswered.
A politician speaks on radio and television in which he appeals to the people to appoint him as their representative but it is possible that many people who want to hear his speech while he is addressing the people Yes, there are no radios or they are in a place where there is no radio and television. Thus, they will fail to receive the message of this politician.
When a teacher speaks to his students in such a low voice that he cannot reach all his students, it is not possible for him to succeed in explaining his meaning to his students. There are also all the barriers to communication due to which the message either does not reach the destination or does not grow at all.
Physical barriers to communication include another factor called channel noise in communication terms, such as television conversations. In this case, noise can be a barrier to communication in a telephone set. Wire malfunction, receiver failure, or closing door noise during your conversation
The noise of a passing car can change the meaning of your message. We can also give an example of this that when the President is addressing the nation on Red Lever Television, his message will not reach the audience due to communication problems.
In order to remove the obstacles in the way of the message caused by the noise of the media, the experienced messenger repeats the necessary ideas of his message over and over again. This process is called in English. The best example of this process is the radio or television news, at the end of which the newscaster says that a summary of a particular news item should be read once. Were The biggest advantage of this is that someone turns on the red levy television at the end of the news or it is possible that the power went out during the news due to which he was unable to listen to the important news but in the end I do not summarize the important news, so the message that goes through the process of repetition becomes the reader's message.
Psychological Barriers
The nature of these barriers is slightly different. Here the message becomes the destination or the recipient of the message but for some reason the recipient of the message finds it difficult to read the message. It also happens that he does not understand the meaning of the message in the way that is intended by the sender or the recipient of the message for some other reason expresses an offensive rumor when he hears, reads or sees the message. An example of a rail from a message is that you want to put an association on the radio from where you can listen to good songs, but if you want to put a station of your choice, if you want to put good but from there, instead of putting good songs from the group and If a program is being broadcast, of course you will close this station and engage in some other activity or sit down to listen to songs from the tape recorder of your choice. This is called a role in media terms.
Field of Experience
One of the major barriers to communication is the psychological barriers to communication if the experiences of those who send and receive messages are not harmonized with knowledge and study. A scientist is giving a picture of Newton's law and there are people sitting in front of him. In such a case, communication will be useless because there is a lack of coordination in the process of destination and source, experiments and studies, etc. It may work, but if the same batch is given to MSc Physics, then communication will be successful. Because there is harmony in the experiences and studies of the destination and the source.
Similarly, if a politician wants to go to a village and give a speech, his speech will affect the people when he uses words according to the knowledge and consciousness of the villagers. In order to make communication successful and to overcome such obstacles, it is necessary for the messenger to know well that the class to which he is giving the message should address it in the language of that class according to the knowledge and intellect of that class.
